Notice of 30 Day Comment Period and Public Meeting
Housing and Community Development Plan
The public is invited to view and provide comments regarding the drafts for the proposed 2010 Consolidated Housing and Community Development Plan Update and the Citizen Participation Plan.
The 2010 Consolidated Housing and Community Development Plan Update details how the state will allocate its housing and community development resources from January 1, 2010, to December 31, 2010. Specifically the Plan describes the state's plan to allocate 2010 funds under the HOME Program ($3.5 million), the CDBG Program ($6.5 million) and the Emergency Shelter Grants Program ($350,000). In addition the Plan provides information regarding the Neighborhood Stabilization Program and Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program.
The Citizen Participation Plan outlines policies and procedures of how the state intends to solicit citizen participation. The purpose of the Citizen Participation Plan is to outline and define the citizen participation process.
Copies of the plans may be obtained without charge from the South Dakota Housing Development Authority (SDHDA) at PO Box 1237, South Dakota 57501-1237, by calling (605) 773-3181 or (TTY) (605) 773-6107. Please specify which plan(s) you wish to receive.
Persons who are interested in presenting comments on the plans may do so by attending the public meeting on October 13, 2009, or by sending the comments to SDHDA at PO Box 1237, Pierre, SD 57501-1237, faxing to (605) 773-5154, or emailing them to lorraine@sdhda.org. All comments must be received in SDHDA’s office by 5 p.m. CDT on October 23, 2009.
The meeting on October 13, 2009, will be held at several locations throughout the state on the Digital Dakota Network (DDN). The meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. CT (9:00 a.m. MT). Digital Dakota Network (DDN) sites that will be available for this meeting are:
